Career Day Premieres
WBRW TV Channel 6 and Michigan Community Media are pleased to present a new show in accordance with Romeo High School called “Career Day.”
“Career Day” is a show about unique careers for high school students to consider and learn more about by being a part of the show. WBRW will bring in guests that will be interviewed by students. Classmates will also be in the audience and can take part in a question and answer segment during the show.
The first episode will be premiering next week. It features Heather Beach, a Social Media Specialist from Mangna Powertrain. WBRW partnered with Ron Leblanc’s marketing class from Romeo High School to participate in the show. Four students joined Heather on stage with the remaining students participating in the studio audience. They were able to learn about what being a Social Media Specialist is and how companies are using social media to not only promote their businesses but also to hire new employees.
"Heather Beach was a fantastic resource for my students to gain some first hand insight to potential careers in social media," said Ron Leblanc. "I can't thank WBRW enough for providing such a wonderful opportunity for the students to both learn about a career in social media and further develop their public speaking skills in front of a camera and see a production in process. From a Marketing teacher's standpoint, this was an invaluable addition to the curriculum."
